In the mysterious deaths of Hacka and Dawg Big Bank's henchmen-Shaun makes a late night visit out of costume, to examine the bodies at Billings Hospital morgue where they were taken after being brutally murdered in their cell at the downtown central booking police Department by an unknown assailant.

Almost discovered by a patrolling security guard, he hides in a body freezer then slips out unnoticed. In the short time Night Jak has become Chicago's Dark Guardian Angel by some, Shaun tries to rationalize if he really has what it takes to protect an entire city from crime, secretly safeguarding the lives of his family and its citizens.
